Headache Relief

Headaches are always changing and presenting in patients in different ways. There are primary physicians that recommend you track your headaches, determine the cause or what could trigger them. Some common headache triggers are caffeine (chocolate, coffee), foods high in sugar or salt, alcoholic beverages and even postural stresses. Understanding where the headaches are coming from is going to be important for being able to change them.

I have had great success with helping patients who have chronic, daily, dull headaches. For these patients, often the trigger is postural positions that they spend hours in each day.

Evidence has shown that performing soft tissue mobilization of tight muscles in the neck & upper back and strengthening weak muscles give the best results. Mobilizing or adjusting the joints in the neck have shown to improve range of motion and decrease neck pain & headaches. But like I said earlier, each patient is different and should be treated as such. Coming up with a solution/treatment plan that allows your to feel the best and get back to your life is the ultimate goal!

Learning how the body is currently functioning is important to be able to provide minor changes to allow for lasting results!
