Typical Treatment at Endurance

After your first appointment with Endurance, the appointments start to look a little different. They all will start with discussing how you are feeling, what your current symptoms are like, what your activities of daily living are feeling like, etc. Each appointment gives us a great chance to go back and re-evaluate how your body is moving currently and to determine if the treatment style seems to be working the best for you.

Keep in mind, that pain is a signal and we often think that if I’m feeling pain in this location, it has to come from there. But that is not always the case! There will be times where pain will refer to a different location than where it started from. An example of this is the low back can send pain to the foot. This is often diagnosed as plantar fasciitis. Not saying that it is wrong, because there is probably some aspect of this condition occurring, but maybe it is not the direct cause of the pain. This is why it is important to keep assessing at each appointment and peeling back the layers to determine where the condition has started from.

Depending on what has been discussed as being the best treatment option for you, each appointment will include modalities such as adjustments (spinal or extremity), soft tissue mobilization like Graston or cupping, trigger point therapy, CranioSacral Therapy and exercises. These are all treatment options that could be utilited to get you feeling better. The follow up appointments will be anywhere from 15-30 minutes depending on the treatment choices.

At the end of the appointment, I will recommend frequency for the next appointment. This is determined based on how well you are responding, what your symptoms are like, schedules available and recovery time from treatment. It is important to understand that each appointment & treatment will look different for everyone. There are some patients that respond really well to care and don’t need to be seen that often but then there are others that respond slower or hit a plateau in care which might require more patience.

I always say that care is like an onion. We will need to peel back the layers of the onion to get to the core, some layers might come faster and smoother than others.
